Heart Eyes: Pearlescent Watercolors

I've been wanting to try these for a while and I finally bought some! These are Pearlescent Watercolors a.k.a. GLITTER PAINT. Okay, so it's more of a shimmer than a glitter but they are still fabulous.

These are so fun to play with! They have the perfect amount of shimmer. When you stand back, it's hard to tell, but when you get close it's so pretty and delicate. I love stuff like that. When you have to get close to discover those hidden little gems.
This is a portrait of someone's dog I'm working on that kind of shows what I'm talking about. This paint is so great for those fun little details and I'll definitely be using it more in the future for my portrait work!
Of course they could also be used for things like crafts! I got this pan (21 colors) at Hobby Lobby for $7.99. They have smaller pans, too. I would definitely recommend these if you've got a sparkle-loving heart!

Chess

Let's all take a moment to appreciate how amazing Josh Groban and Idina Menzel are as Anatoly and Florence in Chess. Chess is one of my all-time favorite musicals and the Chess in Concert DVD is at the top of my Christmas List this year. Since I haven't watched the whole thing yet, I cant say I like that performance better than the 1984 concept album (which I have on vinyl!). Mostly because I definitely prefer Murray Head as Freddie in the concept album over Adam Pascal in the concert version. I can't wait to watch it though!
Really though. They are so cool.

June

Half a year ago, half a year ahead. Sweet June. It was this day six months ago that I came back from my trip to Amsterdam and moved to Texas. Next June I'll be a high school graduate. I have no idea where on the map I'll be but I have a hopeful anticipation for what God has in store! I can't wait to see what June 9th, 2014 has for me.
